Secondaryvillains Leng Ning and Taotie were by far the best characters because they had understandable (if stereotypical) motivations and clear character arcs. Demon King Liu Xueyi was okayish but much better as the fanatical Hao Chen in Love and Redemption. I think actually this character could have been great but again the writing let us down.
